Should We Be Concerned?
I live a stone’s throw from D.C. about 40 miles from the city.
Just far enough to enjoy some space, but close enough to still be part of the metro area.
My husband has worked for the federal government for nearly two decades, and over the years, we’ve often discussed what would happen if war broke out here, or if we faced an Armageddon-type scenario — like COVID, but worse. What would the government do? Where would we go? How would we stay safe?
These conversations feel less hypothetical these days.
